‘H’ John Mejia

President & CEO | Producer / TV Host

‘H’ John Mejia is an award-winning producer, TV host, and entrepreneur with a remarkable career in media and video production. His journey began as an on-air sports reporter for the local TV show “Cincinnati on The Go” in Ohio. This initial experience paved the way for a successful television and video production career, ultimately leading to the founding of In The Zone TV in St. Petersburg, FL, in 2003.

Over the years, ‘H’ has had the privilege of interviewing and featuring numerous renowned movie stars, celebrities, and professional athletes, providing clients with dependable and proven production services to effectively share their stories with the world.

  • Creator, Producer, and TV Host of 86 half-hour episodes of the acclaimed Good Life Tampa Bay TV show airing on MOR-TV.
  • Thirteen-time Telly Award Winner, Accolade Global Film Competition Award Winner, and Global Short Film Winner—recognized for excellence as both a Television Producer/Director and Television Host.
  • Served as a distinguished judge for the prestigious Suncoast Emmy Awards, a role reserved for select professionals in the television industry. Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, NYC, ‘H’ graduated from Bayside High School before pursuing higher education in Maryland. He earned a degree in Business Marketing from Towson University, where he was a four-year starter and team captain of the football team, which achieved a #4 national ranking. As a Tight End, he remains Towson’s all-time leader in receptions, touchdowns, and receiving yards. After college, he signed free-agent contracts with the Indianapolis Colts(NFL), Michigan Panthers, Oakland Invaders (USFL), and PA Patriots (MLFS).

Xiao Mejia

VP & Operations Director

Xiao Mejia, an accomplished media production expert, brings a unique blend of creativity and operational excellence to her role as Vice President and Operations Director at In The Zone TV. Originally from a small village in China, Xiao arrived in the United States in 2001 with a vision for a brighter future. Through self-taught English skills and a commitment to higher education, she set the stage for a thriving career in fashion and media.

Graduating with honors from the International Academy of Design and Technology, Xiao earned her degree in Fashion Design and Marketing. Her academic journey included transformative semesters in London and Paris, where she honed her artistic vision while interning under renowned fashion designers Craig and Yul Taylor.

Xiao’s illustrious career includes a successful tenure as a fashion model, walking the runway for esteemed designers such as Badgley Mischka, Naeem Khan, and Steve Madden. She has appeared in commercials and numerous print advertisements, making countless national TV appearances for prominent clients like HSN and Bealls Florida. Her fashion collection debuted at the 2012 Imagine Fashion Show, showcasing her talent and creativity.

At In The Zone TV, Xiao’s keen eye for detail and passion for storytelling drive the creative processes and operational strategies that elevate the company’s production capabilities. As a leader, she is committed to fostering innovation and collaboration within the creative teams, ensuring that each project resonates with audiences and delivers exceptional results for clients.

Eddy Favara

Eddy Favara is a powerhouse in the world of video production, bringing over 20 years of diverse experience to the table. His expertise spans across a wide range of projects, including captivating commercials, dynamic music videos, engaging TV specials, and impactful corporate productions. Eddy is known for his exceptional talent behind the camera, as well as his keen editing skills that bring stories to life.

Born in New York and raised in Sarasota, Eddy is a proud graduate of the University of South Florida, where he earned a degree in Mass Communications. Regarded as one of the best camera shooters and editors in the country, his work continues to set new standards of excellence in the field. Currently residing in the Tampa Bay area, Eddy remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling and delivering compelling content that resonates with audiences.

Brian Sawin

Cameraman | Field Producer | Editor

Brian Sawin is a talented media professional hailing from upstate New York, bringing a rich tapestry of experiences in television and film production. He holds an Associate’s degree in Television Production and a Bachelor’s degree in Film Production from Ithaca College, where he honed his craft and developed a passion for storytelling through visual media.

After seizing the opportunity to complete his college career in Los Angeles, Brian interned with industry heavyweights such as Joel Silver and Walden Media. His dedication and exceptional work ethic led to a coveted position at Crusader Entertainment (now known as Bristol Bay Productions), a division of Walden Media. As a production assistant, he gained invaluable experience working on notable films, including the adventurous Sahara starring Matthew McConaughey and the critically acclaimed, Academy Award-winning Ray, featuring Oscar winner Jamie Foxx.

In late 2004, Brian made the strategic move to the Tampa Bay area and joined the In The Zone TV team, where he has since flourished as a multifaceted production talent. Over the years, Brian has sharpened his skills in various aspects of production, including camera operations, graphic editing, scriptwriting, and overall project management. He has worked closely with ‘H’ John Mejia, contributing significantly to the signature production value that In The Zone TV is renowned for.

Outside of his production expertise, Brian is passionate about travel and photography, always seeking new perspectives to inspire his work. Additionally, he has pursued a career as a stand-up comic, showcasing his comedic talents at various venues across the Tampa Bay area and beyond, blending humor with storytelling in a unique way.

Brian continues to push creative boundaries and elevate the art of video production, all while bringing a light-hearted touch to every project he undertakes.

Rebekah Wood

On-Camera and VO Talent

Rebekah Wood is a dynamic media professional and former Morning News Anchor for the CBS affiliate in Duluth, Minnesota. Since relocating to the Tampa Bay area in 2011, she has become part of the In The Zone TV production team, bringing her passion for storytelling and community engagement to the forefront. She is also currently featured on HSN on a regular basis representing top national brands.

Rebekah’s journey in journalism began at a young age when she became the Morning Anchor for the CBS affiliate in Duluth while still attending college. After four impactful years in Duluth, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where she served as an anchor and reporter for the CBS affiliate. Rebekah’s career then took her to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she reported for WDJT, quickly rising through the ranks to anchor the 5 and 10 newscasts. In 2008, she returned to Minnesota to co-host the popular Twin Cities Live on 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.

Education

Rebekah holds a B.S. in Mass Communications with a minor in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin Superior and an Associate of Applied Science in Broadcast Journalism from Brown College in Minneapolis.

Sofia Grace Mejia

Meet Sofia, the vibrant and inspiring -Good Life Tampa Bay Kids host! Bursting with energy and curiosity, Sofia started creating content at a young age and now inspires families to explore and enjoy exciting Tampa Bay experiences together. Through her show, she highlights the best places to explore, play, and create lasting memories together.
Sofia’s passion for learning and storytelling extends beyond her hosting duties. On her YouTube channel, Sofia Mejia Mandarin Stories for Kids, and accompanying podcast, she has shared over 140 captivating Mandarin picture book stories, making language learning an engaging and enjoyable experience. With a mission to bridge cultural gaps and celebrate diversity, Sofia invites families to join her on this exciting journey of discovery and connection.
